No potatoes, cabbages, and cheese, please? Ugh!

For living almost half of my life in the Middle East, I have learned to love their famous delicacies such as the Machboos, Kebabs, and the notorious SHAWARMA!!! Gosh, even with just the thought of it starves my gut.

Who is not aware of shawarma? In fact, it is a favorite food of many foodies all across the world. Shawarma is the ultimate on-the-go meal. If you've never had shawarma, you are truly missing out on a delightful quick meal. The name is said to be originated from a Turkish word meaning ‘turning’. Middle Eastern chicken shawarma is a delicious pita sandwich recipe made with thinly sliced seasoned chicken, veggies, and sauce wrapped in pita bread. To prepare the shawarma, a rotating spit is used where the block of meat has been placed. The meat is heated and small pieces are shaved off and flavored to fill in a wrap along with sauces and pickled vegetables. Like a fast food burger with its ketchup and mustard, shawarma is not complete unless it has a sauce to go with it, none other than…the GARLIC SAUCE. Duh!

The price of shawarma in Qatar is reasonably priced ranging from QR 5 - QR 10. Some of Doha’s top shawarma spots include Mashawi Al-Arabi - Al Nasr, Al Rayyan, Turkey Central - Al Nasr, Petra - Al Nasr, Bin Omran, and Hala Istanbul - Al Gharafa.

P.S.: No offense meant but Middle Eastern shawarma does not include potatoes, cabbages, and cheese! Filipino shawarma, gosh what are you doing? Keep up. PLEASE!

P.P.S.: What would I do without my favorite LEGIT SHAWARMA?
